The Infiniti QX4 was Infiniti's first SUV ever made. It was released in late 1996 as a 1997 model.

Original QX4s included four-wheel drive, automatic transmission and a 3.3-liter V6 engine with 168 horsepower. This also applied to 1998 models.
1999[]
The last of the first generation QX4 SUVs sold as 1999.5 models, before the second generation QX4s were released months later.
